Keylogger

A keylogger is a hard- or software that tracks a user’s every keystroke on a computer to monitor and reconstruct everything that is typed. It is often used as spyware with malicious intents. Sensitive data like passwords or financial data is tracked and then used for criminal activities.

However, keyloggers can be used with good intent, too. They can help an IT department with troubleshooting problems and systems or companies can monitor their employee’s activities for example.
