Active Monitoring

To measure a network’s performance the two most common methods are active and passive monitoring. Active monitoring uses the simulation of user behavior to analyze the potential performance of the network. As the potential behavior of users is only simulated, possible issues can be detected and solved before they affect real end-users. However, it is a rather resource-intense method as data is constantly created and analyzed in real-time. Also, since only the predictive data is used, it doesn’t always provide 100% accurate network performance.
