Passive Monitoring

To measure a network’s performance the two most common methods are active and passive monitoring.

Passive (network) monitoring is a passive analysis of the data the users of a network generate. As the real and holistic data of real users is used for this analysis, the status of the network can be monitored quite accurately. Passive monitoring allows you to have an overview of the performance of your network, as well as to detect occurring errors or downtimes fast and solve the problems.
